A Prayer for Christmas

This Christmas I give thanks for many things.  One of the big things is the chance to relaunch The Liturgy Nerd from just being a blog of musings to a place to build community and gather writers from across the spectrum to share how liturgy changes lives.

There will be much more to come in 2018!

For now, however, I'll leave you with a prayer, from the 1989 United Methodist Hymnal, #231, A Christmas Prayer, originally from the The Book of Hymns, 1966, altered by Laurence Hull Stookey:

Eternal God,
by the birth of Jesus Christ you gave yourself to the world.
Grant that, being born in our hearts,
he may save us from all our sins,
and restore within us the image and likeness of our Creator,
to whom be everlasting praise and glory,
world without end. Amen.

Grace and peace to you,

Rev. Jarrod, The Liturgy Nerd
